Moldova’s IPTV market was worth MDL38.1 million (€1.9 million) in the second quarter, or 46.2% more than in the same period in 2019.
At the same time, according to data published by the regulator ANRCETI, the number of IPTV subscribers grew by 11.4% to 201,100.
Meanwhile, the cable TV market was worth MDL13.7 million in Q2, or 29% less than a year earlier, and pay-TV ARPU increased by 7.3% to MDL43.8.
The cable TV subscriber total stood at 146,000 in Q2, or 5.7% less than a year earlier, while the pay-TV penetration per 100 households increased by 1.9 percentage points to 39.4%.
The use of services of the 43 active providers was split 57.9% for IPTV and 42.1% for cable on the second quarter.
In terms of turnover, Moldtelecom was the market leader (34%), followed by TV Box (33%), Orange Moldova (5%) and other providers (23.8%).
