The Walt Disney Company is making Disney+ available in a further seven countries.
As of today (Tuesday), the streaming service is on tap in Portugal, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Belgium and Luxembourg. Content is drawn from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic.
“We have surpassed 60.5 million paid subscribers globally, and today we continue our international expansion with the launch of Disney+ in eight countries. As a major force in the global direct-to-consumer space we’re bringing high-quality, optimistic storytelling that you expect from our brands to even more people” said Rebecca Campbell, Chairman of Walt Disney Direct-to-Consumer and International.
Disney+ Originals titles include three Emmy-nominated series: The Mandalorian, the first-ever live-action Star Wars series; The World According to Jeff Goldblum, a docu-series from National Geographic and The Imagineering Story a 6-part documentary from Emmy and Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Leslie Iwerks.
Other Disney+ Originals available at launch include Marvel’s Hero Project, which celebrates extraordinary kids making a difference in their communities; Encore!, executive produced by the multi-talented Kristen Bell; and animated short film collections SparkShorts and Forky Asks A Question from Pixar Animation Studios.
