The Nordics will be one of the first international markets for CBS’ rebooted streaming service.
From early 2021, ViacomCBS’ CBS All Access will be rebranded as Paramount+. At the same time the service will be expanded to feature content from broadcast, news, sports and entertainment brands.
The Nordics, which already have a Paramount+ branded streaming service in the region, will join Australia and Latin America in the initial global rollouts.
“Paramount is an iconic and storied brand beloved by consumers all over the world, and it is synonymous with quality, integrity and world-class storytelling,” said Bob Bakish, President and CEO, ViacomCBS. “With Paramount+, we’re excited to establish one global streaming brand in the broad-pay segment that will draw on the sheer breadth and depth of the ViacomCBS portfolio to offer an extraordinary collection of content for everyone to enjoy.”
There are also plans for new original content including The Offer, a drama based on Oscar-winning producer Al Ruddy’s experiences of making The Godfather; Spy drama Lioness and a reworking of Behind the Music, opening up the MTV Archive.
