The Czech operator Lepsi TV has inadvertently included sports transmissions on Hungarian channels in its offer.
According to Digital Rozhlas, the Ostrava-based service was supposed to replace the transmissions with a blank screen but failed to do so.
In the last few days, Lepsi TV announced that it would start carrying channels of the Hungarian public service broadcaster MTVA, including M4 Sport, which includes the UEFA Champions League and Formula 1 in its offer. MTVA has since made clear that in the case of M4 Sport the channel should be replaced by a geoblock.
Meanwhile, AMC Networks, which has the rights to Formula 1 in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, has said it is investigating the matter. O2 Czech Republic, which holds the rights to the Champions League, is following the same course of action and pointed to legal action it has previously taken against cable and satellite operators.
