Film1 brings Oscar winner Parasite to Dutch homes

September 2, 2020 12.07 Europe/London By Julian Clover

Dutch movie channel Film1 is adding 50 new titles to its library following new agreements with Entertainment One (eOne), September Film and Belga Films.

They include the Academy Award winners Parasite and Green Book alongside recent hits Bombshell, The Gentlemen and Knives Out.

When Parasite premiers on Film1 later this month it will be the first time Bong Joon-ho’s has been seen on Dutch television. Other new acquisitions such as eOne’s triple Oscar winner Green Book will be included in the programming this year and in 2021.

“We are delighted to bring the most talked-about film of 2019, Parasite, to the Dutch television audience for the first time. We are constantly working to expand our content offering through strengthened partnerships with major distributors, including a focus on Dutch film distributors,” said Jeroen Bergman, Managing Director of Film1. “With almost a thousand titles under licence, we are able to offer a remarkable selection of films, both on our channels and on our On Demand service, so that our viewers can always find a good film to watch,” Bergman continued.

Film1’s premium pay TV and VOD services launched in the Netherlands in 2006. SPI International acquired the Film1 brand last year and continues to offer both linear channels and digital services on various cable, DTH and IPTV platforms in the Netherlands.
