United Group opts for Irdeto

August 28, 2020 11.23 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

United Group has chosen Irdeto’s cardless conditional access system (Cloaked CA) to protect its DTH services in Southeast Europe.

It has been integrated into United Group’s latest satellite HEVC-enabled STB zapper concept, which was also developed with Irdeto for both Vivacom and TotalTV DTH platforms, both part of United Group.

Commenting on the development, Srdjan Djurdjevic, CEO of United Cloud, the innovation centre of United Group, said: “As a group operating in several different markets, it is very important for us to choose the right security partner who is able to meet the needs of all our companies. We selected the Irdeto CA system to protect our content across all United Group DTH operations. The new Irdeto protected satellite STB zapper will be used to deliver unified satellite TV services to customers on all United Group DTH markets”.

Shane McCarthy, COO Video Entertainment, Irdeto, added: “We are excited to be selected by United Group as their long-term security partner across Southeast Europe. Irdeto will help the group deliver improved customer experience through its DTH platforms while ensuring that its content remains secure. This deal further reinforces Irdeto’s commitment to the dynamic and fast-growing media market in Europe, and we look forward to our relationship with United Group to help them meet their business goals of providing world class entertainment and customer experiences”.
