The Czech channel Slagr TV will soon no longer be available terrestrially and have to rely solely on cable and satellite distribution.
Quoting the entrepreneur and musician Karel Peterka, who founded it eight years ago, Rozlas.cz reports that this is due to the unfavourable contract concluded with Ceske Radiokomunikace (CRa) in 2017 for its DVB-T2 distribution.
He added that it is charged around CZK4 million (€152,106) a month but only makes a profit of CZK200,000 over the same period.
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, the sister channel Slagr 2 will also no longer be distributed terrestrially.
Significantly, plans to launch a new channel in Slovakia named Slagr Premium are still going ahead.
