fight24 HD joins HD Austria

August 25, 2020 13.06 Europe/London By Broadband TV News Correspondent

German pay-TV service fight24 HD is expanding into Austria: The combat sports channel has launched on hybrid DTH satellite platform HD Austria.

The channel is distributed as part of the HD Austria Kombi package, which includes a total of more than 80 TV channels in HD and Ultra HD resolution and more than 40 new premium channels at a monthly price of €18.90.

All Kombi package subscribers can receive fight24 HD as an OTT service via internet using the HD Austria set-top-box (MZ-101 or MZ-102) or DVR (MP-201), the Samsung EVO-S receiver or the HD Austria TV app.

“We are very pleased to be able to offer this high-quality premium channel as the first platform in Austria. With such a top-class martial arts channel, we are adding exclusive sports highlights from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Europe to our programme portfolio on the hybrid HD Austria satellite TV platform,” said Martijn van Hout, director of HD Austria and country manager for Austria and Germany at parent company M7 Group.

“Fight24 HD offers our customers sports-related added value with exciting live broadcasts, news and background reports from the fields of Olympic boxing, kickboxing, mixed martial arts, wrestling and Muay Thai,” added van Hout.

Peter Behrends, managing director of fight24 HD operating company Martial Arts Broadcasting Network, said: “With the launch on HD Austria we continue expanding the distribution of fight24 HD. We are proud that with HD Austria we were able to convince one of the largest Austrian TV platforms of our programmes.”

Regarding further carriage agreements, Behrends said: “We are in advanced negotiations with further platform and network operators in the German-speaking countries.”
