The launch of BritBox downunder has been given a A$17.6 million (€10.71m) boost by ITV.
The UK broadcaster’s subsidiary ITV SVOD Australia Pty Ltd in investing the sum in The BritBox Australia Partnership (“BritBox Australia”) over a period of three years.
It means the streaming service, a 50:50 joint venture partnership established in Australia with BBC Studios, is on track to launch in the autumn.
Equal funding will be provided by the BBC’s commercial arm, BBC Studios.
