The Croatian incumbent Hrvatski Telekom (HT) could lose the right of first refusal in the Bosnian telco HT Mostar.
Poslovni reports that the government of Bosnia and Herzegovina has again raised the issue, adding that it will be discussed in an extraordinary assembly of HT Mostar, called by the government, on August 24.
The Bosnian state (FBIH) is currently the largest shareholder in HT Mostar, otherwise known as HT Eronet, with a stake of 50.1%. HT holds 39.1% of shares and Hrvatska Posta 5.23, with the remaining mostly owned by funds.
The right of first refusal should the government ever decide to sell its stake was contractually granted to the Croatian incumbent 14 years ago and has since been challenged on a number of occasions.
