T-Mobile grows Czech TV business

August 17, 2020 08.24 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

T-Mobile ended the first half with 179,000 DTH and IPTV customers in the Czech Republic.

This, according to the company in its latest set of results, was 58.4% more than the 113,000 total posted a year earlier. Meanwhile, the number of fixed broadband customers rose by 22.8$ to 356,000 over the same period and the number of mobile customers increased by 0.2% to 6,239,000.

T-Mobile Czech Republic also says that despite the corona crisis, its revenues in the first half were 2.2% higher year-on-year at CZK13,706 million (€524.8 million), while its EBITDA after lease fell by only 0.5% to CZK5,643 million.
In his comments on the results, Juraj Bóna, chief country officer T-Mobile Czech Republic, said: “We are fully aware of how important integrated and reliable telecom services are in such challenging times and we feel obliged to help our customers to overcome serious problems caused by corona times.

“Communication services help to maintain both personal and working relationships even under the circumstances of necessary social distancing”.
