Mediapro’s new channel makes its debut in the French market Monday, with the addition of Bouygues Telecom to its distribution partners.
The Spanish media group, which won the rights to Ligue 1 and Ligue 2, has licensed the Téléfoot name from Bouygues subsidiary TF1.
Earlier, SFR agreed that it would also offer its subscribers the channel.
Subscribers will pay €25.90 per month for the channel that will also have the rights to the French championships and European cup competitions to which Mediapro has also secured the rights.
Previously, Canal+ was seen as the leader for premium sports content, with Bein, and RMC also contenders.
Mediapro will look to recoup the annual €800 million it paid for the rights.
