Denmark’s YouSee lost 41,000 subscribers over the last 12 months, despite a reversal of the trend during the second quarter.
Profits at parent TDC Group fell by 6.0% to DKK 5,809m as the company struggled with a decline driven by TV, but also falling broadband and landline voice services.
TV alone was 19.4% down as TV RGUs fell away. There was also a decline in revenue from third party antenna organisation for upgrading and servicing their cable networks.
A reduction in content costs was unable to compensate.
Later this summer, streaming service YouTV will launch. It plans to gather all the popular content in one app, allowing customers to mix their preferred TV channels and streaming services.
