WarnerMedia is preparing a sale for its anime video streaming service Crunchyroll.
The AT&T unit is looking to net in the region of $1.5 billion, in a story first reported by The Information.
Sony has been named as a potential buyer, though the media company has declined to comment.
Its future has been under discussion since the purchase of WarnerMedia, though Crunchyroll’s history goes back to the Otter Media streaming video partnership between AT&T and Chernin Group.
Crunchyroll was founded in 2006 by a group of students from Berkeley, California.
It has versions in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Arabic, Italian, Russian.
