waipu.tv offers joint subscription with Netflix

August 11, 2020 10.00 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

German internet TV platform waipu.tv has bundled its premium package with streaming service Netflix.

Netflix can now be subscribed to in combination with waipu.tv’s Perfect Plus package, which offers 130 TV channels – 110 in HD quality – and 100 hours of recording space.

The joint subscription of Perfect Plus and Netflix Basic is available at the introductory price of €16.49 per month and can be cancelled monthly; billing is done via waipu.tv. Compared to the individual prices of Perfect Plus (€9.99 per month) and Netflix Basic (€7.99 per month), this represents a saving of €1.49 per month.

Upgrades to the Netflix packages Standard and Premium are possible for an additional charge.

Customers who are already subscribers of waipu.tv or Netflix can switch to the combined package; Netflix customers will have their payments to Netflix suspended during this time.

“Live TV in combination with Netflix is already part of the daily entertainment for millions of viewers in Germany, especially in the cord cutter segment. The combination of waipu.tv and Netflix meets a frequently expressed customer demand,” said Christoph Bellmer, CEO and chairman of the board of waipu.tv operating company Exaring.

“With our offer, users now receive a full entertainment solution for the first time. HD television and Netflix for the price of an SD cable subscription,” added Bellmer.

However, Netflix is not integrated into waipu.tv’s user interface. Viewers thus have to switch between the apps.
