Poland’s Play Communications ended the second quarter with 59,200 subscribers to its Play Now TV Box.
This, according to the company in its latest set of results, was over three times the number 12 months earlier.
The company also had 5,000 subscribers to its fixed-line broadband service, which was launched at the end of March this year.
Play, which is Poland’s leading mobile operator, says that its revenues in H1 were 1.6% higher year-on-year at PLN3.5 billion (€794.3 million). Consolidated EBITDA was PLN1,237 million (+1.4% year-on-year).
In his comments on the company’s TV activities, Jean Marc Harion, the president of Play’s P4, said: “We are also continuing to expand our TV offer with TVN news channels added to our TV packages, while the signing of the agreement with Canal + will soon enrich the Play Now TV Box offer with online access to linear TV channels and Canal + VOD libraries”.
The Play Now TV box was launched commercially in April 2019.
