Poland’s National Media Council (RMN) has elected Jacek Kurski president of the Polish public broadcaster TVP.
Wirtualne Media reports that it did so by a majority of 3:2, with the three in favour representing the ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party.
It adds that in his plans for the broadcaster, delivered in a 30-minute presentation to RMN, Kurski said he favoured the easing of political battles on TVP and the launch of more thematic channels, among them TVP Kobieta (TVP Woman) and TVP Nauka (TVP Study).
Kurksi was head of TVP from January 2016 until his dismissal by RMN in March this year.
