Vodafone TV customers in Spain have shown a significant preference for paid for over DTT content in the last few months.
According to data published by Vodafone Spain, while the use of DTT decreased by between 5-10% between February and June, that of paid content, included in its pack offer, grew by 159% in the same period.
Children’s channels experienced significant audience growth in April (above 140%), and that was maintained in June, with the figure being 118% higher than in February. VOD also grew by 50% in April but is now back to February levels.
Vodafone notes that access to apps integrated in Vodafone TV such as HBO Spain, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Filmin doubled in June compared to the months prior to lockdown. Meanwhile, consumption of linear channels in general fell by 8%.
Vodafone TV has over 1.5 million customers in Spain and they spend on average an hour and a half each day viewing its content.
