Marco Hellberg to head M7 in Germany

August 3, 2020 15.08 Europe/London By Broadband TV News Correspondent

Marco Hellberg has taken over the management of Eviso Germany, the M7 business partner in Germany, on August 1, 2020.

In his new role, Hellberg will further drive the growth of Germany’s leading provider of TV entertainment for cable and IP networks, according to M7 Deutschland.

Hellberg has been head of channel management at M7 in Germany since October 2018. Prior to that, he held various management positions in the German media industry, including Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland and Unitymedia Kabel BW.

Hellberg succeeds Christian Heinkele, who is starting his own business as a management consultant after a family break.

“In the Corona crisis, TV has confirmed its important role as a reliable source of news, information and entertainment. With M7’s content and licences, network operators can provide their customers with an attractive line-up of German-language and international free- and pay-TV channels and secure a significant competitive advantage,” said Hellberg.

“The basis for this are our proven, long-term partnerships with cable and IP network operators and TV broadcasters, which we intend to expand further, while at the same time focusing on attracting new customers through M7’s channel variety, quality, stability and reliability,” added Hellberg.

Martijn van Hout, country manager Germany & Austria of M7 Group, said: “We are delighted that Marco Hellberg is taking over the management of M7 in Germany, as he has already worked with our customers in the past one and a half years in trustworthy partnerships, and he will certainly use this experience to set further milestones. I would like to thank Christian Heinkele very much for his many years of commitment as well as for his excellent and successful work and wish him all the best for his private and professional future.”
