Polish consumers show a strong preference for double play bundled packages.
According to the findings of an annual report on the telecommunications market published by the regulator UKE, 77.4% opted for double play in 2019, compared to 16.5% and 6% for triple and quad play respectively and 0.1% for quintuple and sextuple play bundled packages.
In double play packages the most popular combinations were mobile telephony and mobile internet (66.6%), followed by fixed internet and TV (13%, or one percentage more than a year earlier).
As in the previous year, P4 was the leading provider of bundled services, though its share fell from 45.9% to 45.1%. Second placed Orange also saw its share fall, from 13.3% to 12%. Meanwhile, Cyfrowy Polsat saw its share rise from 8.5% to 9.5% and UPC from 7.5% to 8.2%, with Vectra remaining unchanged on 3.9%.
P4 dominated the double play market, though it share fell from 59.3% to 58.3%.
Meanwhile, UPC was the leading provider of triple play services, growing its share from 23.6% to 25.6%, and Orange dominated quad play, claiming a share of 95.6%, up from 94.6% in 2018.
In the report, UKE notes that the value of the telco market in Poland amounted to PLN39.6 billion (€8.94 billion) in 2019, or PLN400 million more than in the previous year.
