The Croatian incumbent Hrvatski Telekom (HT) hasstarted deploying the most modern optical infrastructure in the area of the city of Velika Gorica.
The project worth around HRK 29 million (€3.86 million) and will enable the connection of as many as 14,000 households to ultra-fast internet with speeds over 100 Mbps, and in the future, these speeds will go over 1 Gbps.
Commenting on the development, Boris Drilo, member of HT’s management board and chief technology and chief information officer, said: “Optical networks to households undoubtedly enable the highest quality and fastest internet access and are an integral part of the digitalisation of society, increasing economic competitiveness, and quality of life. We are very pleased that Velika Gorica is part of our fibre-optic investments, which will provide a large number of citizens with a superior user experience through the ultra-fast connectivity. HT continues with its investment plans this year in a challenging business environment. It is evidenced by the record 60% growth in covering Croatian households with optics, which we plan to realise this year”.
