A1 inks Mega Max deal

July 23, 2020 10.13 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

A1 Telekom Austria has renewed a contract and expanded its partnership with Mega Max Media.

As a result, A1 Group will continue to provide the technical and content distribution of the toddlers’ channel ducktv and be able to target both private households and pay-TV operators, its own pay-TV platform and third-party pay-TV operators in CEE using Eutelsat 16 as the bcontribution platform. As of now, ducktv is available to all five A1’s subsidiaries, with A1 Slovenia being the new addition to the list.

The partnership between A1 Telekom Austria Group and Mega Max Media started in 2015 with the launch of ducktv at A1 Telekom Austria Group’s subsidiaries in Bulgaria, Croatia and North Macedonia, as well as its home market Austria.

Commenting on the latest development, Elena Petrova, head of A1 Wholesale Broadcasting, said: “It is my pleasure to continue our collaboration with ducktv on Eutelsat 16 for another three years. We proved that we deliver excellent technical services, but ducktv also proved to be an excellent partner providing exclusive and irreplaceable kids content. A1 Telekom Austria Group’s “direct2home” services deliver excellent content to our subscribers in CEE, but can also provide the channel via simulcrypting to other DTH operators on Eutelsat 16A, to numerous cable and IPTV players via our contribution services. Our team is proud and excited to build long-term partners”.

Iza Piotrowska, director of affiliate sales at Mega Max Media, added: “We are very pleased to continue our successful cooperation with A1 Telekom Austria Group and are excited to introduce our premium kids content also to their pay-TV subscribers in Slovenia. ducktv is a leading toddlers’ channel offering expertly curated content that can be enjoyed by families, wanting to spend quality time together”.
