NENT’s streaming service Viaplay has reported a 206,000 increase in subscriber numbers in the last quarter.
Its installed base now stands at 2,716,000 as a high intake during the lockdown brought about by the Covid-19 crisis combined with low churn levels. However, sales were down by 4% as a result of NENT’s decision to temporarily reduce the cost of its sports package in the absence of live sport.
Streamed minutes, excluding sports, were up 42% YoY in Q2, while streamed minutes of sport were up 10% in June and 116% so far in July.
Overall NENT saw a 13% drop in sales as resulting from the Coronacrisis.
“We will come out of this crisis stronger and even better positioned,” said NENT President Anders Jensen.
Advertising sales that were 30% down in the quarter are already showing signs of picking up.
