Discovery and Vodafone have announced a strategic agreement to incorporate Eurosport Player to Vodafone TV in Spain.
Eurosport Player will be available on the big screen via set-top box and multiscreen from any device and customers with Vodafone TV’s Sport pack, which already includes the Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2 TV channels, will have access to the streaming platform at no additional cost.
Commenting on the development, which is the first of its kind between Eurosport and an operator in Spain, Antonio Ruiz, senior VP and general manager of Discovery for Spain and Portugal, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer Vodafone TV customers the opportunity to experience the sport as intensely as we do on Eurosport through the addition of Eurosport Player to their television service. With the integration of our premium multisport platform into their offering, Discovery continues to expand the distribution of their services and platforms to bring more people and more homes than ever an innovative and immersive way of living sports offering viewers a deeper experience”.
Ignacio García-Legaz, director of Vodafone TV, added that “today we are taking another step in our strategy of offering the best content integrated into the best television experience on the market. With this app we offer sports fans a new way to enjoy their favourite competitions, in a more immersive way, and allowing the viewer to have total control of the display, with live content and on demand”.
