Servus TV launches catch-up service via HbbTV 2.0

July 20, 2020 22.24 Europe/London By Broadband TV News Correspondent

Austrian commercial broadcaster Servus TV has rolled out an extended catch-up service based on HbbTV 2.0, the latest version of the open standard for interactive TV features.

The service enables viewers, for example, to watch documentaries, news, sports and movies on their smart-TV sets from Servus TV’s line-up on demand and free or charge. The precondition is that the device is suitable for HbbTV 2.0 and connected to the internet.

“The additional distribution of our programmes via the HbbTV app is an important step towards the perfect combination of our linear offering with the digital world. With the red button on the remote control, our viewers can now directly access our catch-up service and access content at any time,” said Ferdinand Wegscheider, general director of Servus TV.
