Portugal is to restart the migration of its DTT services away from the 700MHz band on August 3rd.
The clearance process was suspended in March as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. At that point 63 transmissions out of a total of 243 had already been switched.
Its anticipated the process, required for the release of the 700 MHz band for 5G, will be completed by December 11 by which time 180 sites are expected to have been transferred.
Regulator Anacom has made it clear that no one need change their antenna, TV or set-top box, however some buildings that have facilities with mono-channel amplifiers might have to replace them.
