AMB Switzerland chooses Zattoo for multiscreen IPTV service

July 16, 2020 08.00 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Azienda Multiservizi Bellinzona (AMB) has selected Zattoo to power its next-generation multiscreen IPTV platform.

AMB is a public utility and telecommunications company owned by the Municipality of Bellinzona in the Canton of Ticino in the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland. In combination with its FTTH access products, AMB is now deploying a state-of-the art TV entertainment service completely hosted and managed by Zattoo under the name WamboTV.

WamboTV is based on Zattoo’s white-label TV platform and provides AMB’s customers with a wide range of features within the branded TV experience including live TV, 7-day catch-up, replay, restart, live pause and network PVR.

The TV line-up comprises more than 200 linear channels including 56 Italian-language services. The MySport package with 12 sports channels will be added soon. Streaming apps and Google voice control are also featured.

AMB is the first Zattoo customer to take advantage of the recently announced 4K/UHD Android TV set-top box offered in partnership with Skyworth. The Android TV Operator Tier certification allows AMB to customise the user interface’s main menu to meet its requirements. The platform can be also be accessed with smart TV sets, Apple TV and mobile devices.
