NENT Group has announced a new financial reporting structure and an increase in its subscriber target for 2020.
The entertainment and streaming company will report on four net sales categories (Viaplay, Other Subscription, Advertising, Studios & Other) and provide an update on the number of subscribers to its streaming service Viaplay.
NENT is anticipating a subscriber intake in 2020 of 600,000; it’s previous subscriber target for the full year 2020 was 400,000.
As of March 31, 2020, there were 2,510,000 Viaplay subscribers, an increase of 23%.
The new structure follows the deconsolidation of the Viasat Consumer business after its merger with Canal Digital.
The combination of NENT Group’s Viasat Consumer business with Telenor’s Canal Digital was completed on 5 May. The new 50/50 joint venture Allente will be recorded as income from associated companies in the Group’s operating income (EBIT).
NENT says its newly launched Viaplay service in Iceland is going well and it’s now preparing to launch in the Baltics.
