Vivacom opts for ST Engineering iDirect

The Bulgarian incumbent telco Vivacom has chosen ST Engineering iDirect to supply MCX7000 modulators to facilitate additional broadcast offerings.

A dense DVB-SX multi-carrier gateway, the modulators will be used to launch new video services in Africa, in partnership with a global satellite operator. They will also provide enhanced services for an existing DTH operator across Eastern Europe.

Commenting on the development, Vladimir Rangelov, senior manager, broadcast services at Vivacom, said: “We are pleased to be teaming up with our trusted partner ST Engineering iDirect on our latest projects in Africa and Eastern Europe.
