German broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 will shut down its combat sports channel ran Fighting on June 30, 2020.
This was confirmed to Broadband TV News by a ProSiebenSat.1 spokeswoman. The move affects the linear pay-TV channel, which offers a 24-hour service.
“But don’t worry: It is only one component of the streaming service of ran Fighting, which will continue to be available to all fans and offer a wide range of individual combat sports events,” said the spokeswoman. “And since most fans select specific events and prefer watching them live anyway, ran Fighting will focus on that in the future.”
With fight24 HD there is still a thematic TV channel for combat sports and martial arts fans in Germany with 24-hour programming. The channel is distributed on cable networks and streaming platforms, for example wilhelm.tel and TV.de by Couchfunk.
