It appears that Vivendi’s appeal against an Italian judgement that gave approval to a planned reorganisation of Mediaset has been rejected.
Reuters reported Friday that a Milan court had rejected the French media concern’s latest attempt to draw a halt to the proceedings.
Plans for MediaforEurope, which would wrap Mediaset’s Italian and Spanish operations into a single Dutch held company, have become the central issue the long-running dispute between Mediaset and Vivendi.
Vivendi believes the establishment of the company would mean a strengthening of the Berlusconi family’s grip on the company.
