Bernd Wendeln joins YFE board

June 18, 2020 08.00 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Your Family Entertainment (YFE) has appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) Bernd Wendeln to the management board of the listed German media company effective June 1, 2020.

Wendeln will complement CEO Dr Stefan Piëch in his activities and assume responsibility for the operational business of the company. The focus of his tasks will be the national and international expansion of linear and non-linear broadcasting activities and license trading.

Wendeln will also promote the ‘revival’ of YFE’s IP rights to popular comic characters (e.g. Fix & Foxi, Albert, Moorhuhn, Ric) in order to tap their potential for the broadcasting and license market.

Wendeln, who has been COO of YFE since December 1, 2019, can look back on many years of management experience in the media business through positions at Tele München Group and ProSiebenSat.1. Before that, he worked in the private equity sector.

“After I have been able to familiarise myself intensively for 6 months and as we have also coped well with the Corona crisis, I am pleased to be appointed to the management board,” Wendeln said in Munich. “I strongly believe in the potential of the company, as we not only own a large library of great titles for children, but also many well-known IP rights, which are very valuable in times of streaming platforms and digital growth.”
