Diego Buñuel has been appointed the new programming director at the French public broadcaster France Télévisions, effective June 22.
Commenting on the appointment, Takis Candilis, deputy DG for strategy and programmes and to whom Buñuel will report, said: “I am delighted with Diego’s arrival in the management of the branches and programmes. His vision and his career will be as many assets for France Télévisions and for French television”.
Delphine Ernotte Cunci, president and CEO of France Télévisions, added: “France Télévisions is the home of Creation and talents, and the good news is that it is now the home of Diego Buñuel”.
Buñuel was a director at Netflix between January 2018 and December 2019 and pioneered the SVOD service’s first productions in Europe.
He has also held several senior positions at Canal+.
