The Digital TV Group has held the inaugural meeting of its Technical Steering Group.
The new working group aims to direct the innovation and technical sustainability of digital TV in the UK. It plans to co-ordinate the activities of Technical Experts Forums to ensure interoperability and support the DTG Council.
It’s chaired by Orpheus Warr, Chief Technology Officer for Channel 4, and facilitated by DTG’s Strategic Technologist, Yvonne Thomas.
“I’m very happy to see the launch of the Technical Steering Group. We are at an exciting point in digital television technology and with the industry working together to push our sector forward, it’ll be interesting to see the innovation that comes out of it,” said Thomas.
Members are drawn from across the TV sector including Sony, Sky, TP Vision, Google, Warner Bros, BBC and Samsung.
