T-Mobile enters Polish 5G market

June 8, 2020 12.27 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

T-Mobile Polska has launched a commercial 5G service in Poland.

In a statement, the company says that from June 9 customers will be able to connect to its network, which thanks to 1,600 base stations located throughout the country will cover up to 6 million people by the end of this month.

Initially, the service will be able to residents of Warsaw and the surrounding area, Lodz, Krakow, Poznan, Wroc?lw, l?ock, Opole, Czestochowa, Rzeszow, Bielsko-Biala, Kielce and the Upper Silesian Industrial District.

Commenting on the development, Andreas Maierhofer, president of the management board of T-Mobile Polska, said: “Today I am proud to announce the commercial launch of the 5G network at T-Mobile. We do not want to wait for what the future brings, but to create it. That is why we now give our clients the opportunity to become part of the first stage of this technological revolution and join 5G. We do not limit ourselves to one small area, but we launch the service on a wide scale.

“5G is a unique range of possibilities and our goal is to enable customers to take advantage of them as they expect. Today, we are building a solid basis for the development of this technology, in order to offer users the full potential of 5G technology in the following months and years, based on new frequencies”.

Maierhofer added: ‘Quality you love’ – this is the motto that guides us in creating all solutions for our clients. It is no different in the case of 5G. We want to offer users the opportunity to use high-quality services, providing great service that adapts to their needs, and at the same time – give the opportunity to be pioneers of innovation – without unnecessary formalities or complicated mechanisms”.

As previously reported by Broadband TV News, Plus launched Poland’s first commercial 5G service on May 11.
