Paramount+ debuts in Russia

June 2, 2020 09.08 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Paramount+ has launched in Russia on the Okko OTT platform.

According to TelecomDaily, it is being made available as a separate subscription service for R199 (€2.57) a month for the first three months, rising to R299 a month afterwards.

It is also being offered in Okko’s Optimum and Premium subscriptions, which cost R399 and R799 a month respectively.

Furthermore, this month a trial version of the Optimum package, including Paramount+, is being made available to new customers for only R1 a month.

The Paramount+ service is operated jointly by Okko and ViacomCBS Networks International and offers premium content from ViacomCBS brands, including Channel 5 and MTV.

It also includes the bulk of the content of Comedy Central, shown for the first time and exclusively on Okko.

Okko was launched in 2011 and has a catalogue that includes 43,000 films, cartoons and series.

It has a monthly audience of 2.8 million people and over 20 million users have visited the service since its launch.
