Ocilion wins Red Dot Award for set-top box design

June 2, 2020 12.41 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Austrian IPTV service provider Ocilion has won a Red Dot Award for the design of its P400 set-top box series.

Together with technology partner EKT, the range of 4K set-top boxes was created delivering a content everywhere experience with live TV, catch up TV, integrated VOD service, media libraries and apps. The entire product family appears in a distinctive, straightforward and visually unobtrusive design, contained in compact housing.

“Receiving the prestigious Red Dot Award confirms our work and demand to deliver our clients the best of innovation, design, functionality and effectivity in one product line. The P400 set-top box family has convinced the jury as a perfect piece of design with a clear identity that blends into any environment. The design was developed by Ocilion together with the design agency D’Andrea & Evers and is built by our partner EKT,” said Ocilion CEO Hans Kühberger.

EKT CEO Richard Smith added: “Ocilion have truly challenged us with their design. Re-creating a superb design for mass production whilst ensuring an end result that is perfect in every way has seen our hardware, software and factory management teams deliver one of the best products in our industry.”
