Canal+ recruits Michal Kolodziejczyk

May 29, 2020 10.29 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Michal Kolodziejczyk has been appointed the editorial sports director at Canal+ in Poland, effective June 1.

In what is a newly created position, his tasks will include managing the work of the sports editorial team and developing new editorial formats, both on Canal+’s satellite and internet platforms.

Commenting on the appointment, Canal+’s CEO and general director in Poland Edyta Sadowska said: “Canal + editorial sports team is composed of some of the best journalists and commentators in their fields. This is a group of enthusiasts and professionals in which Michal Kolodziejczyk fits perfectly. Our sports offer and editorial content are now available on almost every device thanks to the new Canal + service via the internet. Michal Kolodziejczyk’s experience in the field of online media will therefore be an important support for the work of the entire editorial team”.

Kolodziejczyk is a journalist with over 20 years’ experience. For the past five years he was the editor-in-chief of WP Sportowe Fakty (Wirtualna Polska), bringing the website to the position of the leader in the sports segment. Earlier for many years he worked as a sports journalist in Rzeczpospolita and Przegl?d Sportowy. He also collaborated with many TV stations.

The purchase of sports content and sports production will continue to be handled by Michal Jarocki as the director of sports purchasing and production Canal+.

Both he and Kolodziejczyk and will report directly to Malgorzata Seck, VP of programming for Canal +.
