MTS gains pay-TV customers

May 27, 2020 09.05 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Russia’s MTS ended the first quarter with 4.58 million subscribers to its pay-TV services.

According to the company’s latest set of results, this was up from 4.57 million at the end of 2019 and 4.42 million in the same period last year.

In its home market, Russia, the company’s share of the pay-TV market in Moscow grew to 46%. At the same time, its share of the B2C broadband market grew to 43%.

MTS also continued to see additional market penetration of its ultra-fast FTTH GPON connectivity, reaching over 2.1 million subscribers in Moscow across B2C and B2B segments.

MTS Group as a whole had revenues of R119.6 billion (€1.54 billion) in Q1, up 8.9% on a year earlier.

Adjusted EBITDA rose by 1.6% to R51.5 billion and profit by 0.,8% to R17.1 billion.
