A new date has emerged for the Czech Republic to complete its transition to the DVB-T2 standard.
According to Zive, the country’s Ministry of Industry and Trade has proposed to the government that it should be put back by four months until the end of October.
It adds that the extension of simulcasting DVB-T and DVB-T2 is likely to have an impact on the public budget, though the ministry expects this to be no more than CZK50 million (€1.83 million).
There is nevertheless a risk that TV operator may refuse to reimburse these costs.
The transition to DVB-T2 was in its final stages before it was put on hold earlier this spring due to the coronavirus pandemic.
