Channel 5 has announced its VOD service My5 has achieved its strongest-ever week of viewing.
The broadcaster says a 59% increase year on year has overtaken Week 4 in 2016 when Big Brother was responsible for 65% of all streams. This time around its Channel 5’s psychological thriller Blood that has taken control with 32% of streams.
Series 1 and newly launched series 2 totalled 1.6 million views across the week and the programme is on track to become the ViacomCBS channel’s most successful series to date.
Oli Thomas, VP, Digital Lead, Channel 5 commented “With most of the nation at home, they’re turning to streaming platforms like My5 for their daily entertainment and our investment in drama is particularly resonating with viewers.”
My5 is the third largest broadcaster AVOD service in the UK, with 5 million registered users.
