A new satellite TV service named neosat will be launched in Bulgaria on June 1.
Capital > reports that it will be operated by Maxim Zayakov, one of the two founders of Bulsatcom, who left the company two years ago.
It adds that neosat will employ BulgariaSat-1, which was launched in 2017 by Bulgaria Sat, now fully controlled by Zayakov following its separation from Bulsatcom.
Neosat is owned by Zayakov and George Skikos, a former technical director at Hellas Sat and now also a shareholder in Bulgaria Sat.
Deltacom Electronics, another investor, will also produce reception equipment for the new platform, which will be a fully integrated operation.
Neosat will launch with an offer of over 210 channels, 120 of which will be in HD, contained in four packages.
Subscribers will not be required to enter into a contract and the first 2020 will be offered the service free of charge for the first two months.
Neosat will join a satellite TV market in which services are already provided by A1 Bulgaria, Bulsatcom and Vivacom.
