April 30, 2020 10.39 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Orange remains on target to reach one million IPTV and DTH subscribers in Poland this year.

Results published by the company show that although Orange Polska ended Q1 with a total of 994,000 TV customers, up from 959,000 in the same period last year, the March 2020 figure was unchanged on that three months earlier.

Meanwhile, in Central Europe, namely Romania, Slovakia and Moldova, Orange ended Q1 with a total of 747,000 IPTV and DTH customers, up from 688,000 a year earlier.

In Poland, Orange Polska notes that its revenues grew by 0.9% year-on-year in the first quarter to PLN2,804 million (€616.5 million). Although the EBITDA was up by 6% to PLN676 million, the net loss increased from PLN2 million to PLN36 million.

In terms of KPIs, its retail fixed broadband access total stood at 2,616,000 at the end of Q1, up 1.6% on a year. Of these, 564,000 (+41.4%) were fibre.

In Romania, Orange Home TV had 538,000 customers at the end of Q1 up 4% on a year.

Its broadband total was 362,900, or 20% more than a year earlier.

Orange Romania’s turnover in Q1 was €257.4 million, down 2.9% on the same period in 2019.
