German commercial TV broadcaster Super RTL plans to launch a nationwide radio station for children and families at the end of May 2020.
Toggo Radio will be distributed via its own platforms, online radio portals and smart speakers such as Amazon Alexa, Super RTL’s managing director Claude Schmit told German industry publication DWDL.
“With Toggo Radio we are completing our portfolio for children and families, but also for the advertising market,” said Schmit. “Audio usage has increased significantly. Children listen with enthusiasm to music, radio plays and news made for them. And wherever there are children, we want to be there, too. That’s why this offer is a logical step for us.”
Toggo Radio will have “family-friendly” programme line-up including a daily morning show, current charts music, children’s songs and radio plays.
Conventional distribution on FM or DAB is currently not planned.
