Netflix ended the first quarter with 2.8 million subscribers in the Netherlands.
This, according to the Telecompaper Consumer Insights panel, was 13% more than in the same period last year.
Furthermore, the company returned to double digit growth following a slowdown in 2019.
Telecompaper notes that the SVOD service gained 100,000 subscribers in the first quarter alone, helped by the lock-down imposed during the coronavirus pandemic.
Netflix now has a penetration rate of 37% of Dutch households, or four percentage points more than a year earlier.
However, the number of users is likely to be much higher as multiple people use the same Netflix subscription.
Netflix was launched in the Netherlands in September 2013 and reached a peak of 81% annual growth in mid-2015.
