The Bulgarian TV market will officially start to use a single rating agency from next month.
Capital reports that this became clear after Nova TV, one of the country’s two leading commercial broadcasters, said that it would no longer use Nielsen Admosphere and start to work with GARB, the agency used by its main competitor bTV.
In a wide-ranging interview, it quotes bTV’s head Florian Skala as saying that Nova’s decision is the right step. Moreover, bTV has never understood why Nova moved to Nielsen Admosphere in 2014 and expressed concerns about the neutrality and objectivity of GARB.
Skala also spoke about the need for regular audits and improved mechanisms for the viewership of all platforms in the new digital environment.
When asked if Krasimir Gergov was still a minority shareholder in bTV and at what stage the broadcaster’s sale by CME (to PPF Group) was, Skala said there is information on CME’s site and the documentation of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
He added that CME is not providing regular updates on the transaction.
