The New York District Court has rejected an appeal by several Russian broadcasters against a ruling in a case they brought against the Ukrainian IPTV/OTT set-top box and software manufacturer Infomir.
The case dates back to 2016, when the broadcasters accused Infomir of streaming their Russian language channels to paying subscribers in the US without authorisation.
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, Infomir claimed a legal victory in the US in November 2019 when the New York District Court sided with the company in its dispute with a group of Russian broadcasters accusing it of piracy in the US.
The broadcasters included Channel One Russia, CTC, New Channel and TV Rain.
