The government has prematurely replaced three members of the public broadcaster RTV Slovenija’s (RTV Slo’s) Supervisory Board.
Dnevnik reports that they formed part of the government’s quota of four, with the remaining members being chosen by the National Assembly (five) and RTV Slo employees (two).
It adds that Matjaz Medved, Irena Ostrouska and Petra Majer have been replaced by Boruta Roncevica, Antona Tomazica and Draga Zadergala.
Although the Supervisory Board has no say in such areas as programming, it plays a key role in the financing of RTVS.
Dnevnik notes that the changes have taken place following criticism of RTV Slo by the government during the coronavirus crisis.
