Serbia Broadband (SBB) has shut down four analogue TV channels in 11 cities in order to increase the capacity of internet services.
In a statement, it says that the choice of channels was made on the basis of their viewership figures in the cities in question, namely Vrbas, Kula, Krusevac, Pozarevac, Kostolac, Valjevo, Kikinda, Uzice, Sevojna, Kraljevo and Sombor.
It adds that the change has been made in order to make it easier for children to study and employees to work online from home during the coronavirus pandemic.
SBB also notes that there will be no changes made in digitised cities such as Belgrade, Novi Sad, Subotica, Gornji Milanovac and Pancevo despite increased internet usage.
