International Dutch channel BVN TV has signed a long-term agreement with Astra satellite operator SES for distribution around the globe.
SES is distributing the public broadcaster at 19.2° East across Europe and to Africa at 5° East.
In order to ensure seamless global distribution of BVN’s content from a single signal source, SES is also contracting non-SES satellite capacity as appropriate.
The move follows BVN’s decision to leave Astra in favour of Eutelsat’s Hotbird satellite system (13° East) in September 2018.
BVN (Stichting Beste van Vlaanderen en Nederland) is a public free-to-air channel providing Dutch-speaking viewers around the world with TV programming in their native language.
